New Paths Forward began with a simple but powerful mission: to bring trauma-informed mental health care to underserved communities. Founded by a passionate mental health therapist dedicated to providing trauma therapy, the company quickly became a trusted resource in Litchfield, CT where access to quality care was limited. Despite operating in an impoverished community, the practice thrived, offering hope and healing to individuals and families in need.
However, when it came time to expand services by hiring prescribers, the therapist encountered a significant challenge: every candidate declined due to the company’s commitment to accepting insurance reimbursement. Rather than letting this obstacle hinder the mission, the founder made a bold decision to return to school and become a prescriber.
Today, as a Yale-trained psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, the founder continues to lead New Paths Forward with the same dedication to affordable, accessible, and high-quality mental health care. By accepting insurance and maintaining a trauma-informed approach, New Paths Forward remains a beacon of hope, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of healing and recovery.
